Europe Highlights

So much has happened on this Europe trip with the main highlight of J and J getting engaged! hehe. Yay, I get to be maid of honour!

Let's see, best parts of Paris:
- Food...yummy French food. Especially those set dinner menus - meals for 10-15 Euros for 3 courses.
- Architecture: awesome looking buildings. So intricate and complex yet looking so beautiful.
- History: Lots of history in every building that we visited. Many dating back for hundreds of years.
- Many cathedrals to see; watching chaos at the top of Arc de Triomphe where cars merge in and out in the roundabout of up to 8 lanes; Eiffel tower and looking at the whole Paris city at night time
- And of course J & J getting engaged in this city

Best parts of Prague:
- everything fairly cheap
- beer for less than $1 CDN
- walking tour through the city - visiting the old town, new town, Jewish old quarters, Prague Castle, Charles Bridge
- learning about the history of Prague
- Cafe Louvre: pigging out on food! (last night...trying to use up all our Czech money)

Best parts of London:
- shopping at TESCO/ASDA/Waitrose for groceries (they have cooooool flavoured chips and yummy candies...great smoothy from Waitrose)
- having a "free" tour guide (thanks Jon!)
- watching Chicago and Les Miz
- Fish and Chips
- Eating at Savoy Grill (restaurant owned by Gordon Ramsay)
- trying to pack to keep luggage weight limit to 20kg per person (what kind of intl airline would limit just 20 kg?????). Had to leave lots behind.

Just a short highlight of things we did on this trip. So much to do in such a little time. We walked a lot! Some days, definitely more than 10 km...yup, had some tired feet. We did use the metro/RER/tube/DLR quite a bit in Paris and London. Thank goodness. Tho the one in London we had to do a lot of switching lines. Unfortunately on the last part of the trip I got sick =( But all in all, I would love to go back again. Definitely to Paris again...maybe when I go to Italy and Greece in the future I'll stop by Paris ;)
