Surfing in the USA....no wait...Down Under!

We went surfing today! I know, I know, some of you are prbly wondering how I accomplished such a feat for someone who can't swim and is a bit of a chicken. haha. Yes, yes, I'll admit it...I'm a chicken =p

So here's the story. The girls wanted to go surfing and all along I was like..err, do I hafta? And that was kind of put into the back burner. Apparently on our drive to Mermaid Beach (Gold Coast) after leaving Byron Bay, M made a call to this place called surf easy to book a lesson. Of course I had no say in this since she called while I was sleeping in the back seat!!!!! And then they told me like an offhand comment when I woke up that we were gonna go surfing the next day. I was at first taken aback...I mean, who knows how deep I'd hafta go...I don't want to drown! hehe. Yes, so I'm being a bit dramatic here. But after a lot of peer pressure, I agreed to do it (I kept telling them that peer pressure is bad..but they wouldn't listen to me).

Surfing...it actually wasn't that bad after all. When the waves came, I was maybe neck deep in the water but without the waves, I was waist deep. I wish I could say that I was awesome at surfing but nope...only stood up once fully...all the other times were either on my knees or falling off the board. haha. It's actually harder than it looks..and quite tiring. But I managed. Plus I was able to milk a good massage from B since she agreed to give me one if I went surfing (me and my bad back..sigh). So yup, I now have pics to prove that I went surfing..my first water sport...without having to know how to swim. hehe. Will post up pics when I have time!

*UPDATE* pics posted!! Unfortunately nothing of us in the water as there was no one on shore who could take it for us while we were surfing

Hey She!
Glad you are having a stupendous time. Wow, you went surfing? Sounds like fun. LoL, you're pretty brave.... I don't know how to swim either, but I probably would have passed on surfing. Well, I can't wait to see the pictures. =)
Keep us updated. =)
I'm doing well. I'm working for a day camp and I'm having a great time.
