STRANDED!

Well, ok, not really stranded but it felt like it for a night at least.

Just to say, Sydney was AWESOME! Had such great fun there. Apparently we were staying at a section known as the Red Light District...oops. But it really didn't seem that bad. At least we didn't experience anything or saw anything. haha. Guess God was really watching over us. Boy, our last nite we stayed at the Westin...IT WAS SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO NICE!! I don't think I'll ever be able to stay at another hotel as nice as that. Yay for connections in getting us cheap rates. hehe. We also drove up to Blue Mountains. That was fun. We did some "bushwalking" which is equivalent to hiking. We went on the Giant Stairway...if you think Grouse Grind is bad...you haven't tried anythign like this hike. Was quite the workout I tell ya.

Anyways, more details about Sydney and all later. Now is the time to vent about Brisbane. So we arrived in Brisbane yesterday night. Met up with Becks' friend. Thus we didn't get to check into our hotel until after 11pm. When we got there, the reception was like..we don't have a record of your reservation even tho I had the confirmation receipt with me. And since they were all booked up, they tried calling other hotels to see if there were any vacancies. Apparently not...even after trying for about an hour. Even the hostels were all full! So, we were like...umm, we don't have anywhere to stay...and was kinda getting pissed off since we booked 3 nites with them. So to make the long story short, they offered us the use of their conference room where they would put roll-away beds in for the nite until they could sort things out. What they expected us to do was find our own accommodations for the following 2 nites. We were too tired to argue with them. We even spent around 30 min trying to look on the internet for hotels but didn't find any (apparently there's this dental conference going on right now hence why no vacancies). This morning we were up and ready with a battle plan to see what they could give to us. They offered us free breakfast...so after breakfast we went to talk to the manager. They found a room at the hotel for us so yay! No more being homeless. But we still hafta pay for the 2 nites. They did offer us free breakfast every day tho. So yay!

And that's all for now...we'll see what other adventure Brisbane will bring...
